Main responsibility

To manage the development and implementation of the Child Protection policy and procedures at Theatre for a Change so that comprehensive and relevant support services meet the needs of sexually exploited children and children whose caregivers are in sex work.

Duties

  • Assess the needs of sexually exploited children and children whose caregivers are in sex work.
  • Identify relevant agencies with capacity to meet the specific needs of vulnerable children.
  • Conduct referral for children to health services and other social services.
  • Track referral of children to ensure that their needs are met and that they access required services.
  • Facilitate the process of re-integration of children into their families when appropriate.
  • Implement and update the Theatre for a Change Child Protection Policy and Risk Management procedures in the Alliance for Behaviour Change (ABC) program.
  • Build the Capacity of ABC staff in Child Protection Policies, Procedures and Practices.
  • Ensure documentation of case studies and best practices of interventions and impact mitigation is kept up to date.
  • Ensure all financial procedures are followed according to the TfaC Financial Policy, including budget tracking and accounting for donor funds
  • Participate and contribute in the preparation of donor reports and annual budgets
  • Develop, produce and source IEC materials for the Child Protection project.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports promptly to management.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Social Science preferred, Social Work, Public Health or Rural Development.

At least 3 Years experience of Social Work and Child Protection

Experience

  • 3 years professional experience in working with vulnerable children in an NGO or Government department.
  • Clear understanding of Child protection Policy and Procedures.
  • Knowledge in Monitoring and Evaluation of donor projects and their impact.
  • Experience in management of donor funds.
