Empowerment is at the heart of what Theatre for a Change does and our monitoring, evaluation and learning seeks to engage the people we work with to assess the effectiveness of the programmes we run.
By regularly reviewing what we do and how we do it, we are confident that we can deliver the best quality work with the greatest positive impact on our participants. Ultimately our aim is to turn our learning into action, allowing us to effect change at individual, group and social level.
We recently trained three groups of sex workers to be ‘Peer Leaders’ in Malawi. These Peer Leaders will act as enumerators, interviewing their peers about their experiences of our community programme. We are looking forward to assessing the impact of this new, participatory approach to monitoring and evaluation.
