About Theatre for a Change (TfaC)
Theatre for a Change (TfaC) is a Malawian non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing gender equality, social justice, and improved health and rights outcomes through innovative participatory approaches, including interactive theatre, dialogue, and behaviour change communication.
As the current Strategic Plan (2022–2026) comes to an end, TfaC is seeking a qualified consultant or consulting firm to facilitate a strategic review process and develop a transformative Strategic Plan for 2026–2030.
The Assignment
The selected consultant/firm will:

Conduct a light-touch review of TfaC’s 2022–2026 Strategic Plan.

Analyse the evolving political, social, economic, technological, civic space, and donor landscape.
-
Facilitate consultations with Board members, management, staff, and key stakeholders.
-
Develop a comprehensive Strategic Plan (2026–2030), including:
-
Theory of Change
-
Strategic priorities and objectives
-
Implementation framework
-
Resource mobilisation and sustainability strategy
-
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework
-
-
Support validation and finalisation of the strategy.
Who Should Apply?
We invite applications from experienced consultants or consulting firms with:

Proven expertise in strategic planning and organisational development.
-
Experience working with NGOs, development organisations, social enterprises, or similar institutions.

Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
-
Experience developing Theories of Change, implementation frameworks, and MEAL systems.
-
Knowledge of gender equality, social justice, civic engagement, behaviour change communication, and development programming.
-
Familiarity with the Malawi context and the wider development sector.
Deliverables
The successful consultant/firm will produce:

Inception Report

Strategic Review and Context Analysis Report

Draft and Final Strategic Plan 2026–2030

About Theatre for a Change (TfaC)
Theatre for a Change (TfaC) is a Malawian NGO established in 2007, working to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls through participatory learning and drama-based approaches.
TfaC is seeking an experienced and independent Internal Auditor Consultant to strengthen organisational governance, internal controls, risk management, and compliance systems.
Purpose of the Role
The Internal Auditor Consultant will provide independent assurance and advisory support by reviewing financial, operational, and programme systems, identifying risks, and recommending improvements to strengthen accountability, transparency, and organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct periodic internal audits of financial, operational, procurement, and programme processes.
-
Review internal controls and assess compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards.
-
Identify risks and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
-
Review financial management systems, expenditure controls, asset management, and reporting processes.
-
Support preparation for external audits, donor assessments, and due diligence reviews.
-
Prepare audit reports and follow up on implementation of recommendations.
-
Provide advisory support to strengthen governance and accountability systems.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field.
-
Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in internal auditing, compliance, risk management, or financial management.
-
Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded organizations is highly desirable.
-
Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and governance principles.
-
Excellent analytical, communication, and report writing skills.
Consultancy Arrangement
This is a consultancy position based in Lilongwe. The successful consultant will be engaged on a quarterly basis, providing periodic support based on organizational needs, including internal audit reviews, risk assessments, and advisory services.
